Tech Troubleshoot
£195Bring me the thing that's been stuck.
We'll get on a call, and most of the time it's sorted the same day.
STILL ON YOUR LIST
Too annoying to ignore
You've been stuck on this for three weeks. You've read the help docs, you've watched a video by a man with a ring light, you've had a go at it twice and made it slightly worse.
So now it just sits on your to-do list. Every time you see it, you think about it for a second, feel a bit sick, and move on to something else.
That's what the Tech Troubleshoot is for.
WHAT YOU'RE BOOKING
Here's how it works
You book in and tell me what's going on. We get on a call so you can show me what's happening, or talk me through what you need setting up. Anything I need you for, passwords, permissions, decisions about how you want it to work, we do together while we're on there.
Then you go and get on with your day, and I start on it straight away. Wherever possible it's done the same day.
You'll hear from me when it's finished, with a note on what I changed in case you need it later.
One thing sorted, start to finish. If getting there means fixing three other things on the way, that's part of it.
What it isn't is a list: if you've got your mailing list to set up and a broken checkout, those are two different jobs.
THINGS I'VE FIXED
The sort of thing this is for
A website someone else built, that got messy when you tried to make changes yourself
Customers are emailing you to say they haven't been able to pay on your website
The automated email that's meant to get sent when someone buys, and doesn't
Enquiries coming in through your contact form, and no idea where they're landing
A connection that was working has suddenly stopped, with no obvious reason why
A new platform that needs connecting to your website so the two actually talk
If your tech issue isn't on that list, I can still help. Just get in touch if you want to check.
A CLIENT STORY
What this looked like for Hannah
Hannah had a website built for her. When she came to make changes herself, bits of it stopped sitting where they should, and she ended up with a site she didn't want to send anyone to.
She'd been putting off dealing with it, because she wasn't sure whether it was a small fix or a whole rebuild.
Turns out it was a small fix.
It's looking really good, and I feel confident that I can advertise and promote myself through the website.

When this isn't the right thing
Two ways a Troubleshoot might not be what you need.
The first is that you've got a list rather than a problem, and that list refills itself every couple of weeks. A one-off fix won't help with that. You need someone who's just there, so it never builds up in the first place. That's what Your Tech, My Problem is for.
The second is that what looks like one broken thing turns out to be a symptom of something else, and sorting it properly goes further than a Troubleshoot can cover. If that's yours, I'll tell you on the call, before you've spent any more on something that won't do the job.
Not sure which you are? Book the Troubleshoot. If you'd be better off doing something else, I'll say so.
Nobody gets talked into a website rebuild they didn't come for.

Questions you might have
What counts as one thing?
The outcome, not the number of steps. "Get my new email address working" might mean sorting DNS records, checking the sending domain and testing it properly. That's all one job. "Get my new email address working and rebuild my checkout" is two.
If you're not sure which yours is, tell me what you're trying to get to and I'll tell you straight.
What if it only takes you twenty minutes?
Then you've got it back twenty minutes after we hang up, instead of losing another fortnight to it. You're not paying for my time, you're paying for the ten years of getting it wrong that means I already know where to look.
Some things take an afternoon. You pay the same. It evens out, and I'd rather price it so you can just tell me what's wrong without working out whether it's worth calling.
Do I have to stay on the call the whole time?
No. We'll need you at the start so you can show me what's happening and I can get whatever access I need. After that you're free to go. You're welcome to stay and watch if you want to see how it's done, but most people have better things to do.
What if I don't know what's wrong?
That's fine, that's often the job. You don't need to diagnose it before you book. "My emails aren't arriving and I don't know why" is enough to go on.
What do you need from me?
Access to whatever it is, so logins or an invite to your account. We sort that on the call, so you don't need to have it ready in advance.
BOOK IT IN
Right, what's broken?
Book your Tech Troubleshoot, tell me roughly what's going on, and we'll get on a call. Most things are sorted the same day.
Payment is taken when you book. If it turns out a Troubleshoot isn't the right thing for your problem, I'll say so on the call and refund you.
